Necessary requirements:
— a graduate of the Master’s Program in history;
— a very good knowledge of Latin and paleography;
— a background in the field of medieval history research workshop and auxiliary sciences of history, especially genealogy;
— a research experience in working with medieval archival court files and in research on medieval settlements;
— an experience in editing medieval sources;
— a good command of computer software: a text editor, calculating spreadsheet, and database management system (for instance Word, Excel, and Access);
— a command of foreign languages: Polish (fluent), English and German (good);
— a planned or commenced PhD dissertation in the field of history;
— a consent to a primary place of work at the Institute of History, PAS, in Krakow;
— a consent to be included in the number of employees who run reaserch activities during the employment period (written declaration).

To the benefit of the applicants are:
— their research achievements, especially in the field of history of settlement;
— the knowledge of The Historical-Geographical Lexicon of Krakow Voivodeship in the Middle Ages and other voivodeships and lands.

— a Curriculum Vitae;
— a copy of their MA diploma; if the MA diploma is to be obtained before the 1st October 2018 – a certificate of completion of the first degree studies (BA), and of a planned MA exam;
— information about scholarly interests, scientific achievements, and list of publications;
— the candidate’s statement that in the case of employment, Institute of History, PAS will be the primary place of work.

The closing date for the submission of the applications is: 26/09/2018.

During the interview, candidates shall be asked to present themselves and their scholarly interests (10 minutes), and then to respond to the commission’s questions; in addition, candidates shall be asked to to read part of the manuscript of the court book.

The final decision shall be made on 19/10/2018. Each candidate will be informed about the date of the interview and the result of the recruitment.
