Good practices and rule of conduct for IH PAS staff

Code of Ethics for Researchers at PAS

The General Assembly of the Polish Academy of Sciences has adopted the Code of Ethics for Researchers, which applies to all IH PAS employees.

The Code deals with good practices in science. In particular, the Code defines

• Universal ethical principles and values in scientific work
• Good practices in scientific research, including principles regarding
  • scientific data,
  • research procedures
  • authorship and publication
  • peer review
  • training of young researchers,
  • relations with the public,
  • disclosure of conflicts of interest,
• The problem of dishonesty in research, including rules on
  • gross misconduct,
  • unreliable peer review and citation
  • other misconduct,
  • general procedures for the detection of misconduct,
• International cooperation practices.

We would also like to remind you of other documents regulating ethics, good practices and appropriate behavior to be followed by scientists, as well as the internal regulations of IH PAS.
