Description: Candidate must hold a PhD in humanities, have a scholarly output published and accepted in the field of Central and Eastern European history broadly defined in the 19th century. Publications at the international level are required, along with a very good understanding of current research trends in 19th-century history, with particular emphasis on Central and Eastern Europe and nationality issues.

Proficiency in English is also required, as well as knowledge of other languages related to research topics (e.g., German, Latin, one of the Central European languages) at a level enabling the reading of texts (sources and studies). The candidate is also expected to have a research project leading to the attainment of a habilitation degree, as well as experience in international cooperation in the field of historical science. Experience in leading a scientific grant is desirable.

Applicants must provide:

• An application for employment addressed to the Director of the Institute*
• CV containing description of scientific achievements and bibliography
• A copy of the PhD diploma
• Description of research project, including schedule and working plan
• Declaration of the applicant that in case of a successful application, Institute of History of  Polish Academy of Sciences will be the main place of work,
• The candidate should agree to be counted in the number of employees engaged in research activities during the period of employment, i.e., the number “N” for purposes of the algorithm for distributing base funds for activities required by the Polish law.
