The journal Dzieje Najnowsze [English: Recent history] was founded in 1969 by Tadeusz Jędruszczak, Czesław Madajczyk and Witold Stankiewicz.

The journal is published by Tadeusz Manteuffel Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
