We are pleased to announce the results of the NCN open call for a research project (Opus 26). The project “Women experts and feminist knowledge production in post-war East Central Europe (1945-1989)” (total amount 2 000 000 PLN) will be lead by Natalia Jarska PhD with hab., our employee.
The project comparatively explores women’s biographies, research trajectories, and expert discourses centered on “women’s issues” related to paid and unpaid labor, the family, and health in Czechoslovakia, Hungary, and Poland. Focusing on medicine, social sciences, and law, the project aims to trace expertise that critically assessed persisting gender inequalities and contributed to discourses on gender equality. The project team aims to shed new light on the history of feminism and expertise in post-war East Central Europe. Foreign partner will be Historický ústav AV ČR (https://www.hiu.cas.cz/en).
